Pick your path to the obstacle course staring line and timed portion of the event– paddle down a 1.5 mile section of the Nolichucky River or peddle your way up and down hills both on and off road. Whether pedaling or paddling, you are sure to have an adventure. Pro-tip: Bring your own bike or kayak and save on your registration fee!

Once you cross this starting line, you will immediately enter the obstacle challenge course where your strength and agility will be tested at one of the many obstacles including a sand crawl under barbed wire, traverse wall and inverted wall, balance beam, monkey bars, tire drag and much more.

Upon completion of the obstacle course, Triple Threat participants will then begin the third segment of the event – the 5K Race. Racers will run to Temple Hill Road to Jackson Love Highway, where they will veer left onto Carolina Avenue. They will race down Carolina Avenue to Academy Street, then to Nolichucky Avenue, where they will cross the finish line.

After you conquer your fears, have a shower and a beer! The finish line for the race will be located just steps from the Erwin Great Outdoors Festival. Participants and their families can then enjoy the festival and all of its activities - live music from various bands, outdoor-themed vendors, live demonstrations, food trucks, craft beer tent, hikerfriendly activities, kid's zone with petting zoo, and much more! A complimentary shower trailer will be available for Triple Threat participants and each participant, over the age of 21, will receive a free beer token, compliments of Union Street Taproom.
